Day 1 :

Arrival in Kigali

Arrive at Kigali International Airport
Transfer to your hotel in Kigali city
Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre (optional)
Overnight at a locally-owned hotel in Kigali

Day 2 :

Kigali to Musanze (Volcanoes National Park)

Drive to Musanze ( approx. 2 hours)
Visit the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing on community-led conservation efforts
Meet with a local community guide and visit a nearby village to learn about their daily life and conservation efforts
Overnight at a community-run lodge in Musanze

Day 3 :

Volcanoes National Park

Trek to see the endangered mountain gorillas (permits included)
Visit a community-led conservation project, such as a tree-planting initiative or a beekeeping project
Learn about the importance of conservation and community involvement
Overnight at a community-run lodge in Musanze

Day 4 :

Musanze to Gisenyi (Lake Kivu)

Drive to Gisenyi (approx. 1 hour)
Visit a local fishing village and sensitize the population about sustainable fishing practices
Engage in a community-led conservation activity
Overnight at a community-run lodge in Gisenyi

Day 5 :

Gisenyi

Visit a local school and participate in a conservation education program
Meet with a local community group and learn about their conservation efforts

Gisenyi to Kibuye (Lake Kivu)

Drive to Kibuye (approx. 2 hours)

Engage in a community-led activity, such as a boat tour or a traditional cooking class
Overnight at a community-run lodge in Kibuye

Day 7 :

Departure from Kigali

Drive back to Kigali (approx. 3 hours)
