Itinerary
When you arrive in Kigali, you will be warmly greeted by our tour operator, who will then take you to enjoy a beautiful welcome dinner, featuring local delicacies and flavors of Rwanda, in the breathtaking Land of a Thousand Hills. After breakfast, you will depart for Volcanoes National Park, taking in the breathtaking views of hills and foggy valleys along the way. Volcanoes National Park, located in the far northwest of Rwanda, protects the steep slopes of this spectacular mountain range, which is home to the endangered mountain gorilla. However, before arriving at your destination, you will make a detour at Buhanga Eco Park. This was a holy woodland where Rwandese Kings held initiation ceremonies; today, it serves as a memorial to earlier tribes that performed such rituals. There is a chance to go on a trail walk in the park and witness where these rites occurred.
Withdraw and transfer to your lodging, enjoy lunch, and unwind.

Following an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch in order to be briefed on the gorilla code of behavior. This will be followed by a hunt for gorillas in the bush, which might take 2–6 hours, depending on how the gorillas move in the jungle. Meet and stay with the gorillas for only an hour. Ascend to Gorilla Guardian Village for a communal walk and enjoy their many cultural acts and activities; take part in gridding, among other unique cultural events. You will stop at the Dian Fossey Museum on your route to the settlement.

Your day will begin with a journey to a nearby village in Kinigi, where you and your guide will be greeted by members of the hosting family. Following introductions and briefings, you may take part in various everyday living activities with family members, such as cooking, getting water from a spring, excavating, weaving, crafts, and cutting grass for animals. We eat a simple traditional meal with the host family at lunchtime, with plenty of time to connect and learn about each other's culture.

Kibuye is one of Rwanda's most beautiful areas and the closest thing the country has to a beach resort. On Lake Kivu's long shore, there are some magnificent stretches of sand edged by various tropical plants. The road via Kibuye follows the coast of Lake Kivu. You will enjoy a scenic 3-hour voyage that will get you as close to the shoreline of Lake Kivu as possible from various spots. You will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu while at Kibuye.

Relax and enjoy the views of the Rwandan mountains from Lake Kivu's hillside. We will be hiking on Napoleon Island and searching for fruit bats and velvet monkeys on Kibuye, a nearby island. This excursion provides an opportunity to interact with communities after you get on the island, with members of the village greeting you with their distinctive songs, music, and dance style. Depending on your schedule, join the people in rural life and visit some of the island's tiny farms.
A coffee tour from crop to cup, a short therapeutic trek along the Lake Kivu coast, and an evening boat trip to round up the program.

After breakfast, you will be taken to Nyungwe to tour a tea estate. You will walk into this tea estate to experience the variety of parallel ridges of tea as well as the lovely mountains that create a beautiful backdrop for the plantation. You will also have the opportunity to visit the factory and learn about tea processing. Retire and drive to your overnight lodging.

After breakfast, you will go to Nyungwe National Park for the ultimate chimp tracking experience and an afternoon canopy hike. The park is in the Tea Estate neighborhood and features a vast virgin tropical rainforest with a high, dense canopy that is home to approximately Chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest live in large groups and wander around every day, seeking food 310 different bird species, hundreds of butterflies and orchids, and over 75 different species of mammals, including 13 primates (roughly a quarter of all Africa's primates) as well as chimps. and hunting smaller creatures. Chimpanzee tracking can span anywhere from an hour to three hours, depending on where the chimps are. You will spend a maximum of one-hour interacting, photographing, and observing the animals. After lunch, you will undertake a thrilling canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest.

After breakfast, you will be driven to Akagera National Park to see the wildlife. This is Rwanda's only park where you may go on a game drive and witness wild animals from the savannah. You will enter the park after clearance and enjoy a game drive to your lodge. Along the way, you might see some animals, especially antelopes, buffalo, and monkeys.

You will go on a game drive in Akagera National Park early in the morning. The mostly open terrain is good for game viewing. It is possible to see buffalo, elephant, antelope, zebra, giraffe, baboons, monkeys, and 490 bird species. Ranger guides will lead you through the park to increase your chances of seeing many creatures. Members of the lion pride may also be seen in Akagera. A boat tour on Lake Ihema, with its big pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and countless water birds on the island in the middle of the lake, is also a highlight of any visit to Akagera.

After breakfast, you will begin on a community cultural experience, learning about local traditions, customs, and ways of life. You'll engage with community members, gain insight into their daily lives, and take part in traditional activities. Return to camp for lunch.
In the evening, go on a thrilling night game drive with armed rangers to spot nocturnal wildlife, including lions, leopards, hyenas, bush babies, civets, mongooses, and more. The darkness brings out a new world of creatures, and with expert guidance, you'll witness the wild like never before. Return for dinner and spend the night.
