Rwenzori Mountains

Located in western Uganda, the Rwenzori Mountains are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most impressive mountain ranges.

Key Features:
Height: 5,109m (Margherita Peak)
Location: Western Uganda, on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo
Features: Glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, and unique flora
Hiking Trails: Rwenzori Seven Lakes Trail, Central Circuit Trail
Difficulty Level: Challenging
Best Time to Hike: January to March and September to November

Mount Elgon
Located in eastern Uganda, Mount Elgon is an ancient volcanic mountain with a unique landscape.

- Location: Eastern Uganda, on the border with Kenya
- Features: Caves, calderas, Flora, and Fauna
- Hiking Trail: Sasa Trail Trail
- Difficulty Level: Moderate
- Best Time to Hike: June to August and December to February.

Virunga Mountains
Located on the border of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Virunga Mountains are a chain of volcanic mountains.

- Height: 4,507m (Karismbi)
- Location: Uganda, Rwanda, and Democratic Republic of Congo
- Features: Volcanic lakes, mountains, and unique flora
- Hiking Trails: Karisimbi Trail, Bisoke Trail
- Difficulty Level: Challenging
- Best Time to Hike: June to August and December to February
