Today focuses on meaningful collaboration with local initiatives led by community members themselves. Working alongside teachers, community leaders, local partners, and environmental officers, you will contribute to projects that respond directly to local priorities.

Depending on community needs and your interests, you may choose to support environmental restoration through tree planting, assist with activities at a local school like classroom painting, or participate in our sexual reproductive health program by donating sanitary pads to young girls to help them stay in school. You can also choose to spend time sharing stories and skills with teenage mothers participating in community development programmes.

Rather than observing from the sidelines, you become part of ongoing efforts that strengthen both people and the environment. In the evening, return to your homestay and reflect on the day's experiences over a shared meal with your host family.

Day 5: Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking & The Bigodi Experience

This morning, venture into Kibale Forest National Park, one of East Africa's most important primate habitats. Accompanied by expert rangers, follow forest trails in search of wild chimpanzees while listening to the sounds of birds and other forest wildlife echoing through the canopy.

After tracking, enjoy a traditional lunch at Tinka's homestead in Bigodi, where locally grown ingredients are transformed into authentic community meals.

In the afternoon, take part in hands-on cultural experiences as local residents share traditional banana brewing techniques and guide you through the journey of coffee from bean to cup. Roast, grind, and brew coffee by hand while learning about the importance of these practices within local households and livelihoods. Retire and transfer back to your homestay.

Travel south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the remote Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to the region's famous tree-climbing lions.
